THE KING OF KINGS

1Timothy 6:15

“(…)which he will display at the proper time-he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, (…)” (ESV)

Personal Thoughts

The reference verse above sits in a beautiful passage in which believers are to “pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith.” (1Timothy 6:11). In meditating on this encouragement, we are reminded that our pursuit is centered on Christ, the “King of kings and Lord of lords”. We obviously live under the natural law of political parties but we ultimately live under the banner of Christ our “King of kings”. As I have retired, I am especially concerned (for lack of a better term) about where our society is headed. I spend too much time absorbed in the day to day battles going on in our political spectrum. So, this particular ornament was a nice reminder to re-center my thoughts on the One who rules over all. Jesus the Christ is our King over and above any earthly king!
