THE CUP
Scripture Reference
Luke 22:20
“And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood’.” (ESV)
Personal Thoughts
The holy cup of Christ which I designated with the white cross is not just a reminder of the Last Supper but also of His covenant to His followers. I am united and secured in Christ through this covenantal relationship. His blood was poured out on the cross for you and for me for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Those of us who drink from this holy cup will thirst no more for He has saved us.
About This Design
“Unless I see……unless I place my finger….unless I place my hand…..”I will never believe”. There can be no “unless” in my walk of faith. The symbolism stands in stark contrast to Thomas’ “unless”. I can believe because I stand in the shadow of the cross where thy crucified my Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
Mark 15:17
“And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him.” (ESV)
John 20:25
“So the other disciples told him, ‘We have seen the Lord.’ But he said to them, ‘Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.’” (ESV)
